Dr Flávia Fayet-Moore I PhD, MNutrDiet, BSci (Hons), APD, RNutr, FASLM

Dr Flav is a global leader, scientist, speaker, entrepreneur, and communicator. She is a Registered Nutritionist, Accredited Practising Dietitian, board certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional, and Adjunct Lecturer of the University of Newcastle. Dr Flav’s 20-year career in nutrition has been dedicated to making a positive impact to human health.  She has the ability to see opportunities where others do not, stay ahead of the game, challenging the status quo, and bringing diverse people together to contribute to a healthier world. She is also the co-founder of Food is Cool, which provides early learning centres and schools with evidence-based nutrition education so the next generation of foodies can have a positive relationship with food for life.

Curious Foodie (Nutrition Scientist & Research Dietitian)

Kylie Abbott I PhD, BNutrDiet (Hons), APD

Kylie’s study of nutrition came later when she started her family and found information on the internet confusing and untrustworthy. Kylie now uses her biochemistry knowledge, along with her experience in study design and nutritional epidemiology, to link together food and nutrition with mechanisms, intervention studies, and observational research. Kylie’s ultimate purpose is to provide evidence-based nutrition to help people make informed decisions about their individual health journeys.

Agile Foodie (Nutrition Scientist & Project Manager)

Michelle Blumfield | PhD, BNutrDiet (Hons), APD 

Michelle specialises in the scientific management of nutrition research projects. She ensures every project is delivered on budget, on time, and backed by the latest science. Michelle further provides mentorship to researchers to support their personal growth and professional development. In addition to her role at FOODiQ, Michelle works as a clinical dietitian in her own private practice.

Dynamic Foodie (Food & Nutrition Scientist & Communicator)

Emma Beckett | PhD (FSHN), MScMgt, GDipClinEpi, GCertHumNutr, BBiomedSci (Hons I), RNutr

Dr Emma Beckett is a recognised leader in research and communication in the fields of food science, nutrition, epidemiology, education, and human health. Her diverse experience and qualifications give her a unique multi-faceted view connecting fields, outputs, and outcomes. She has won multiple awards for research, communication, and education, and is a sought-after communicator in food and nutrition, with an extensive portfolio of written, radio, podcast, television, and documentary media engagements.

Foodie Translator (Storyteller & Nutrition Researcher)

Tim Cassettari | BSc (Nutr)(Hons), BAppSc, GradDipCoachPsych, APD

World-class researcher, nutrition strategist, and storyteller, Tim is changing the health and wellness landscape through nutrition research, food regulation, claims substantiation, and health communication. He is also known to love exploring the outdoors with his Cavoodle, Eli.

Foodie Educator (Nurse & Educator)

Lucy Downey / BEd (Hons), BNursing, RN, Gradcertprim/commhealth, certIV training and assessing

Lucy's skill set combines a love of teaching with an interest in promoting better health outcomes in the community. With over two decades in secondary and tertiary teaching and leadership roles, plus her more recent experience as a registered nurse, she helps design, co-ordinate, and deliver engaging and informative health-based education and research. When not coordinating research, Lucy can be found teaching in a classroom, nursing in a hospital, or in the swimming pool counting laps.

Holistic Foodie (Public Health Nutrition Researcher)

Emily Duve / MPH, RNutr, GCertHumNutr, BPESS

Emily brings diverse research skills in the field of lifestyle and public health research to FOODiQ, as well as a strong passion for nutrition’s role in preventing chronic disease. Emily is experienced in coordinating clinical trials, conducting interviews and qualitative research, undertaking systematic reviews, and communicating and translating science for a variety of audiences.

Foodie Investigator (Nutrition Scientist)

Patrice Jones | PhD (FoodSci), MMedSci(Clin Epi), BFoodSciHumNutr(Hons I), RNutr

Patrice has a unique skill set that combines nutrition, food, and consumer science with epidemiology. Patrice helps in the delivery of science and communication projects that span nutrition, food, and health. In addition to her role at FOODiQ, Patrice is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Health and Sport, Victoria University.

Foodie Experimenter (Food Scientist)

Saamia Khan | BFoodSciHumNutr, BBusiness

Saamia is an early career food scientist, passionate about understanding the science behind food and nutrition. At FOODiQ, Saamia supports across a variety of projects and is always a helping hand. Saamia is actively involved in learning new things in the food science and nutrition industry and is pursuing a masters degree. She is dedicated, curious, and enthusiastic for all things food science. She looks forward to making a meaningful contribution to the world of food science and nutrition at FOODiQ.

Foodie Storyteller (Marketing & Communications Strategist)

As a marketing and communications consultant and leadership coach, Ann's extensive experience in marketing strategy, market research, and communications equip her with a unique and insightful perspective. As a member of the FOODiQ team, Ann understands the pulse of audiences and is driven by her desire to create meaningful change and establish connections that resonate. Ann’s natural curiosity not only fuels her love for travelling but also mentoring and coaching aspiring leaders and business owners.

Foodie Detective (Nutrition Researcher & Biochemist)

Carlene Starck | PhD (Biochemistry), BSc(Hons)

Carlene specialises in connecting what we eat with the biochemical pathways that influence metabolism, mood, cognitive function, and hormonal health. Her experience is rich in academic, medical, and industry research, as well as science communication. Carlene is also known to have a nerdy obsession for horses and equestrian competition.

Visionary Foodie (Nutrition & Communications Strategist)

Jutta Wright | B.AppSc, MND, GradDipHerbMed, APD, Herbalist

Commercially savvy nutritionist, educator, marketer, and innovator, Jutta’s broad industry experience enables her to unlock insights in food and nutrition to develop strategic recommendations with client-focused outcomes. Jutta is also passionate about developing key relationships to build a global network of changemakers. Socially vibrant, she loves to energise herself with good food, family, and friends.
